The attack is coming through your peering ports !
Dominique Schaeffer

Modern DDoS attacks are becoming more distributed, encrypted, and difficult to mitigate. While large networks often deploy dedicated protection platforms, many smaller networks connected to IXPs lack effective DDoS defenses.
At the same time, Internet Exchange Providers occupy a unique position within the Internet ecosystem, offering unparalleled visibility into traffic flows and attack patterns.
This presentation explores how IXPs can evolve beyond traditional peering services by offering security capabilities to their members. We will review emerging attack trends, discuss the network architectures required to support scalable DDoS detection and mitigation services, and examine how DDoS protection can both improve member security and create new value-added service opportunities for IXPs.
Attendees will gain practical insights into attack evolution, architectural design considerations, and the role IXPs can play in building a more secure and resilient Internet.
